Having never been to Niagara Falls I knew I needed to see them once I heard they had frozen over. So, road trip!
I fell in love with the sound of rushing water, so many feet of snow the benches were buried and mist turning to ice on my coat, hat and hair.
Most of all, I feel in love with the colors. Muted hues, nearly black and white but with pops of minty green, and a blue I can't describe.
The texture of snowy ice, it's random forms, mixed in with layers of colors in the fast moving water intriged me. As did the vast difference of man made structures and the forms nature created for us to enjoy.
I have been inspired to play with new colors and textures. Mixing natural hues and textures to my handmade structures. One road trip adventure has influenced another at my bench. I am excited to see where it brings me.
Happy winter! xo, kim
