city dweller bangles in brass

Here's a new hue for the collection...

they are the same pavement texture as my city dweller rings

they are the same pavement texture as my city dweller rings

With less layers of clothes in this summer heat I am having fun layering jewelry. Brass, oxidized silver and satin silver bangles get paired up, then I mix up collections by adding an oxidized fool's gold necklace and finally choose city dweller stacking rings to match the texture and finishes of the bracelets. Everything interchanges with ease and makes your jewelry box seems to double in size. Playing with colors and texture is fun in the studio and just as addicting when I choose my accessories for when I am out and about. The difference being the studio requires tools to explore, being out in the city requires some cool clothes, comfy shoes and lots of bling! (I love this look with my favorite dress from Queen of Hearts!)

what would you like to layer, mix and wear together?

happy summer!

I am honored to be in the same building as the glass flowers shown above. These flowers have influenced me since I first saw them fifteen years ago. I can not think of a more perfect place for my enamel work nor could I have imagined my work could possibly end up here. I am grateful and excited and don't know what could really top this.

Studio shots: itty bitty rings in the making

I take a lot of process photos. Maybe it's because I love metalsmithing tools.  Or because I find it awesome that shiny objects are born of fires, loud hammers, dirty pieces of sandpaper, whirring flex shafts and this solution we call pickle. Once metal shines we protect it, deam is precious and wear it with caution.

My love of jewelry making means I will never have pretty nails and may be the perfect criminal. Without prints, who can catch me?

Months after dreaming these up, itty bitty rings are finally in my shop.

I love them stacked!

Seeing as jewelry is a huge part of my life, just as much as making it is, I strive to create work which is subtle and easily worn. Size, shape, textures and finishes are taken into account when I consider the wear and tear these shiny objects endure. I guess that's how my designs ended up so simple yet rich in subtle details. If I can wear my work while hammering, soldering and sanding then I can be pretty certain you will find my designs perfect for every day too. My finger prints may get worn away but my jewelry will remain timeless.

As always a huge thank you to all of my customers who keep me doing what I love, creating piles of silver dust. Without you my itty bitty designs wouldn't  continue grow to become collections.

black & tan!

The contrast of color and shape make these simple designs pop!

And there are so many options for matching earrings...

Personally, I love the black on black earrings above.

But this classic design will always be a favorite of mine. The contrast is too lovely to resist.

forget-me-not rings make this bouquet complete.

Here's a little explanation on why I love these tiny flower so very much...

This dainty flower is one I came across in a warehouse full of vintage findings. It reminded me of a little forget-me-not bloom, delicate flowers serving as a strong symbol for love, romance and remembrance. As best said by Henry David Thoreau, "It is one of the most interesting minute flowers. It is the more beautiful for being small and unpretending; even flowers must be modest."
