Lately I have been drawn to larger surfaces to play with color on. It has allowed me to play with multiple colors and create patterns and effects with enamel in it’s powder form. After firing these pieces and allowing them to cool I get to see the results and so far I am loving them.
My new series is inspired by graffiti spray. They are drippy, linear, speckled, all somewhat unpredictable, like paint in the wind. The colors are inspired by long walks in the city, observing what’s growing in flower boxes, the color of the water under the bridge full of tags, brightly painted doors and shutters and weeds growing in the cracks of the cement.
These earrings are 7/8” round with a raven (charcoal grey/black) base covering the front a fine silver disc. Clover and Lichen is a pale pink and green combination which is subtle but pretty. Sea foam and marigold is a green-blue and yellow which is a bolder contrast in color. The back of these earrings have a satin finish with a sterling silver post soldered to the back. They come with sterling silver ear nuts.
